A desert is a habitat that can be found in the southwestern United States. A desert’s climate is generally hot during the day, cool at night, and very dry. In fact, some deserts get only a few inches (cm) of rainfall each year.

Despite the weather, America’s deserts are full of life. You can find plenty of reptiles, mammals, arachnids, and birds living together in this habitat.
